Shooting near Bend Jack in the Box appears to have been in self defense
The shooting near the Jack in the Box in Bend Monday evening was apparently in self-defense. According to Bend Police, 39-year-old Christopher Nolan pulled a knife and threatened 39-year-old Robert Garris of Medford. In response, Garris pulled out a handgun and shot Nolan several times. Garris was carrying his firearm legally. Nolan was taken to St. Charles in Bend. The Deschutes County District Attorney will review the case after the investigation is completed.
